Dippy bird explaination
by "Imbibe
Labs"
What happens to every drop of
water that evaporates from your water tumbler?
How much energy could that drop contain?
What can you do with such energy....is there a physical quantification?
If you have been wondering about these questions, here are the answers.
At Imbibe Labs, we want to interest students in science by exposing them to physical understanding of scientific phenomenon. We explain science by quantifying what a certain scientific concept can do.
Imbibe Labs is a team of students from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. We are looking for educators, animators and investors to join us in this cause.

Acoustic Levitation Chamber
From youtube
(upload by drdeak)
This is an acoustic levitation chamber I designed and built in 1987 as a micro-gravity experiment for NASA related subject matter.
The 12 inch cubed plexiglas Helmholtz Resonant Cavity has 3 speakers attached to the cube by aluminium acoustic waveguides.
By applying a continuous resonant(600Hertz) sound wave, and by adjusting the amplitude and phase relationship amongst the 3 speakers; I was able to control levitation and movement in all 3 (x,y,z) axis of the ambient space.
This research was used to show the effects of micro-gravity conditions that exist in the space shuttle environment in orbit, but done here on Earth in a lab.
This is not "anti-gravity." So don't waste time arguing something pointless.

The shape of sound
From Youtube
The shape of sound demonstrated with salt.
The shape of sound demonstrated with salt.
The plane is vibrated at specific frequency. The waves travel across the plane and at some places they add together and at other places they cancel out. Where they cancel out the salt sticks because there is no vibrations and at other places it just gets vibrated away.

Sliding Weights with Triangle

Mariotte's Bottle
Question #84
(From University of Maryland)
The
water container shown in the photograph below has five (5) holes spaced at
equal intervals of d, allowing water to spray out in coherent jets as
seen. The distance from the bottom of the container to the lowest jet and the
distance from the top jet to the surface of the water are also d.
For the
purpose of this question the range of any water jet is the distance that
the jet sprays from the front of the container by the time it reaches the
bottom of the container (a vertical distance of d below the lowest
hole).
chúc may mắn.
So here
is the question: which of the five water jets has the greatest range? In fact,
can you rank the five jets in order of their range, beginning with the greatest
range? Let's number the jets from one (1) to five (5) with the lowest jet being
number 1 and the highest jet number 5.
The top
jet may have the greatest range because it has further to fall and therefore
takes more time, so the order of jet ranges might be 5-4-3-2-1. On the other
hand, perhaps the lowest jet has the greatest range because it sprays out with
the greatest speed, so the order of jet ranges might be 1-2-3-4-5.
Question
#84: Rank the
five jets in order of their ranges, from the greatest to the least.
